The brewery at Faversham Brewery is home to Shepherd Neame, Britain's oldest brewer. Nestled in the medieval market town of Faversham in Kent, beer has been brewed here for centuries.
The brewers use natural ingredients such as mineral water from the town's aquifer and locally sourced hops to produce characterful Kentish beers and renowned international lagers.
The brewers combine art and science to create award-winning beer that you'll want to enjoy again and again.

Shepherd Neame's Double Stout was brewed for the first time in 1868. The recipe, which is very old and was discovered in the brewery's archives, had to be deciphered first because it was coded to protect it from other breweries. Here, too, tradition is very important; an oak mash tun and East Kent Golding hops are still used today.
Its black color and cream-colored, fine-pored and lush head will make every stout lover's mouth water. The very creamy taste completely fills the mouth, but the distinct coffee and dark chocolate flavors, the fine berry notes and the subtle bitter roasted malt aromas promise a wonderful and versatile taste experience.
