Rotkäppchen Alcohol-Free is the fruity, fresh alternative for anyone who loves Rotkäppchen sparkling wine but wants to avoid alcohol. The selected wines for this cuvée are dealcoholized particularly gently, preserving the typical, delicately fruity, and full-bodied Rotkäppchen flavor. Rotkäppchen Alcohol-Free has 50% fewer calories, promising carefree, light enjoyment.

 The different boiling points of alcohol and other liquids are used to dealcoholize wine, sparkling wine, or beer. Alcohol evaporates at 78°C, while water, for example, only becomes a gas at 100°C. However, the problem with this method is the loss of flavor at such high temperatures – many of the compounds that give wine its full, rounded flavor are destroyed.

 Rotkäppchen Alcohol-Free takes advantage of the fact that the boiling point of liquids in a vacuum is significantly lower: depending on the level of vacuum, for alcohol it is around 30°C and for water it is around 40°C–50°C. This means that the wine for Rotkäppchen Alcohol-Free needs to be heated considerably less, and the typical, finely fruity and full-bodied Rotkäppchen taste is retained.
